  • New Bedford fisherman Alfred Conde, 61, repairs an 80 by 50 foot section of net aboard 75-foot dragger Lady Patricia docked at MacMillan Pier. The crew's brand new net became all chewed up when it got caught in the mud as they fished for haddock, cod, pollock and sole.

  • Ken Macara of Chatham, crewman on the 48-foot scalloper, Moonraker, performs maintenance on their new rake, putting on a new net and adding chains in Saquatucket Harbor. Macara is shown working through a scallop ring, which lets the undersized scallops pass through and allows for the optimum yield of legal catch.

  • Chatham fishermen Andy {quote}L.B.{quote} Tatzel, left, and Kenny Tolley sort through 75 nets in preparation for their 34-hour monkfish and skate fishing trip in a couple weeks. They will travel about 90 miles out from the Chatham fish pier aboard the 44-foot vessel, Dawn T.

  • Gray seal kerfuffles are a common occurrence along the Muskeget Island shoreline. Crocker Snow of Ispwich and his family own most of Muskeget Island, which has become the preferred habitat for what researchers estimate to be 3200 gray seals during their breeding and pupping period.
  • First mate Andy Pickrell of Chatham hauls up a tote of lobsters from the 32-foot Brady R. at the Chatham Fish Pier.
  • David Forg of Lexington glides into shore with a pack of kite surfers behind him at Corporation Beach.
  • Carson Schemenaur, 11, of Sandwich back flips off of the Sandwich boardwalk at high tide.
  • Paul Dunbar of Orleans tosses his rake in the air as he walks back from the Rock Harbor flats after digging for razor clams. Dunbar said this was one of the last low tides for a while during daylight hours so he made sure to get out.
